LUCIA PIZZANI

 Born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1975, Lucía Pizzani holds a BA in Communications Studies, (Universidad Católica Andres Bello, Caracas), Certificate in Conservation Biology from CERC at Columbia University (New York) and Master in Fine Arts from the Chelsea College of Art and Design (London).

Her work is part of the TATE Collection, the UK Government Art Collection, Magasin III Museum for Contemporary Art (Stockholm), Essex Collection for Art from Latin America ESCALA, and the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros (CPPC) amongst others.

Recent exhibitions, residencies and commissions include Klima Biennale Kunsthaus Wien, Vienna (2026), Amazon Biennial, Belem (2025) SEEDS for the Infinite Ecology Marathon at Serpentine Gallery (2024); the LatinX takeover at the V&A East (2024); El Cercado Ceramic school (Isla de Margarita, Venezuela) and the Smoke curated section at Frieze London (2024); Healing flows, a public commission for the West Middlesex Hospital in Twickenham with CW+ (2024-2025); Cultivo y Memoria, a commissioned piece for the Harewood Biennial in Leeds (2024); Planet B: Climate Change and the New Sublime (2022), curated by Nicolas Bourriaud at Palazzo Bolanni (Venice); Peckham24 (London, 2022); Casino Luxembourg (Luxembourg, 2023); TEA Museum (Tenerife, 2022-2023); Casa Wabi and the Puerto Escondido Botanical Garden (Oaxaca, Mexico, 2021), LaunchPad Lab (Charente, France, 2020); Hacienda La Trinidad Art Centre (Caracas, 2022) and Photofusion (London, 2017)

Her first institutional show in the UK opened at Focal Point Gallery in March 2026 and is touring, it was presented at KARTS Gallery in Plymouth this summer and will go to Mostyn in Wales in March 2027. In 2024 her first monograph was published with commissioned texts from Lucia Pietroiusti, Nicolas Bourriaud and Torrivilla and an in depth interview with Lisa Le Feuvre. The book is bilingual and was edited by Natalia Valencia Arango and published by This Side Up.
